The CummingsMFA artist grant program for the Washington, DC area was launched in January 2006. Over a one-year period, 27 artists submitted their applications online. The applicants ranged from novice weekend painters to professional artists. There were 15 artists selected from the applicants. Awards were made for painting, drawing, and paper construction. Although no more applications will be accepted, donors may still designate contributions to the Washington awardees.
